I have seen this in a cut scene from Star Wars
Darth Vader has just watched the Death Star go up in a puff of smoke.. as he takes off his helmet and pinches the centre of his brow, giving a long sigh he opens up his TV-liquor cabinet. He then downs a glass of Alderan wiskey and he can just be heard muttering ,"Fucking 2 meter ventilation shaft..."

DESIGN FLAW:
1- Not a big enough TV.
2- Won't hold enough liquor (for me).
3- Every time someone goes to get a drink they'll block the screen.

I think it's pretty cool.
design flaws? the diameter is too large.
cut it in half so it's semi-circular, install an LCD screen and that way it'll look more elegant.

oh and add hinges to the bottom half so that it can be opened when you can't be bothered waiting for it to rise up.
