May 2 2007Digital Lifestyle Device not a sex toy

Aluratek has created a 10.5" digital picture frame that also plays video. It has 256 MB of flash storage and displays pictures as well as plays MP3s. They're calling it a Digital Lifestyle Device, but I'm pretty sure it's really just a tiny TV. That doesn't play TV. So worse than a TV. And just for future reference, a Digital Lifestyle Device is what you'd call a condom with a computer chip, not a digital picture frame.

I see two problems off the bat:

1. That's an ugly frame.

2. How do you get the picture out to burn when the bitch dumps you after six and-a-half years for some dipshit Aussie named Steven she met in Mumbai?

Apparently the frame which isn't up to Brownian standards is required in order to sell this thing as a picture frame. Man, they just keep finding ways to market the same damn thing as something else and pass it off as new technology. Much like the macguyver multi tool.

I think the audience for this is obvious. Just think of the feature set:

1. high-resolution photos
2. sound
3. plays short AVI videos
4. looks innocuous in the bathroom
5. hands-free operation

This is no picture frame. It's an electric pr0nograph. At $200 it'll fly off the shelves. These people are no fools.

Goatse framed to look like art in a gallery, exactly what everyone wants and needs.

Sometimes a digital picture frame is just a digital picture frame.

Its like memory in a frame

We have one random one at my workplace
We're selling it for 300 bucks.
It's more modern looking. Simple black frame.
But it seems effing useless to me. Especially for 300 bucks.
WTF
